  • Please complete this form in order to start the process of registering your new activity group.

    The requirements we have for new groups are:

    - There are 3 current students interested in being on the committee of the new group and that they all agree with the committee member agreement (details further down the form)

    - There isn't already a group that exists under the same name/with the same aims etc

    - The aims of the group meet the aims of the Students' Union.

     

    If you don't have 2 other students interested in being on the committee, then please email us on activities@hud.ac.uk and we'll support you in finding other students.

  • The main purpose of all our student-led Activity Groups is to support the students at Huddersfield. However, some groups will wish to link or partner with external organisations. This must be done with the agreement of the Get Involved Committee who govern the running of all Activity Groups.

    Please detail below, any potential links or partnerships, that you may wish to explore

  • Committee Member Agreement

    If you request to form a new Activity Group is successful each student on the committee will be asked to complete a 'Committee Member Information Form', within this form each committee member is asked to agree to the following expectations:
    • You will keep in regular communication and contact with the staff team.

    • You will keep up to date with the SU community by reading communications published in teams, via email and in the weekly Huddle.

    • You will work as a team with the rest of the committee.

    • You will listen to the student members of your activity group.

    • You will aim to provide a fun, safe and inclusive space for your student members.

    • You will get your membership, via our website. (Memberships run August through to July each year).

    • You will complete the mandatory committee training and work as a team to achieve ACEGo! ACEGo, is a list of criteria to ensure your group is set up properly.

    • You will book on to any additional training workshops that are relevant to your role.

    • You understand that all Activity Groups are governed by the Activity Group Policy, which can be found in Bye Law 9 on our website here: huddersfieldsu.co.uk/governance
    • You understand that all Activity Groups are led by democratically elected students (committee members) and that you agree to engage with and take part in these elections annually. Elections take place between March and April each year.

    • You understand you can only be a committee member of a maximum of 3 Activity Groups at any one time.

    • You will have fun & enjoy it!
  • Risk Assessing your Activity

    Please think about what your normal Activity Group activity will be and tell us, whether you think its a low, medium or high risk activity. The relevant coordinator will also risk assess your Activity Group and may contact you if you are deemed to be medium or high risk, to ensure that the safety of all members is met.

    Your registration form will now be discussed at the next Get Involved Committee meeting in order to ratify your group with Huddersfield Students' Union.
