• Information needed for Self Assessment Client

  • This is not an exhaustive list but will get the ball rolling in setting you up as a client and preparing everybody to know what will need to be collected to do your self assessment tax return.

  • Are you a member of a performance union
  • Do you have any self employment business*
  • Are you VAT registered*
  • Do you want us to review and file your VAT return?
  • What is your accounting year end for self employement?

  • What system do you keep your bookkeeping in?*
  • Do you receive any pension income?*
  • Do you have any bank or building society account that has given YOU interest in the tax year?*
  • Have you received any dividends from companies over the tax year?*
  • Do you have any capital gains from the sale of things like shares or investments?*
  • Have you made any pension contributions to a personal pension, not employers pension, in the tax year?*
  • Have you made any charitable donations?*
  • Do you have student loans to repay?*
  • Which Student loan plan(s) do you have?
  • Do you have any Foreign Income with tax deducted at source
  • Do you have an accountant currently in place?*

  • You will need to resign from your current accountants and introduce us to them. We do have a template you can use for this. Let us know if you need this. 

  • Don't worry , we won't contact them until you have confirmed your resignation.

  •  We are required by the ICAEW, our governing body,  and by HMRC to carry out client due diligence with regards to Anti Money Laundering (AML). The anti-money laundering checks will be carried out via the TaxCalc AML system or Verify. Can you please attach a copy of your passport as well as proof of address such as a utility bill, council tax bill or bank statement not more than three months old, as we will need it for our anti-money laundering checks. Thank you.
