The aim of your counselling with me
I am an integrative counsellor, which means that I draw from several theoretical counselling approaches and techniques according to my clients’ needs and preferences. The overall aims of your counselling will be discussed and agreed in our initial meeting. However, other issues may emerge as our work together progresses. I will provide a confidential, non-judgemental, safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. I will assist your healing, understanding and growth. I will help you to find your solutions and/or your way forward.
Our work together is confidential, however there are a couple of exceptions to this. To provide the best counselling service possible and comply with the BACP ethical standards, I attend supervision on a regular basis. I may discuss your issues with my supervisor but your identity will be kept confidential.
If I felt that you or someone else was in danger or at significant risk I would, wherever possible, discuss with you the possibility of breaking confidentiality to obtain further support for you.
The personal information you provided is treated and stored securely. Neither extracts nor whole copies of our exchanges will be shared with any third parties whether it is online or offline.
If you need to cancel one of our sessions please give me 24 hours’ notice. If you are unable to let me know 24 hours in advance I will charge for the session unless either of us experienced a technical problem. If you are not online at our agreed time, I will wait for a 20 minutes grace period to allow for eventualities, if however I don’t hear from you during this time, I will consider this session missed and charged for. I will also ensure that I give you 24 hours’ notice if I need to cancel a session.
For email counselling, I will reply to your emails within 48 hours.
Should either of us experience technical difficulties, we both endeavour to SMS straight away and try to reconnect online within 10 minutes. If after 10 minutes you or I are still unable to connect, we can re-schedule free of charge via SMS.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and work to their ethical standards. My registration number is 083148. A copy of the BACP standards can be found on their website at www.bacp.co.uk. As per BACP guidelines I request you use Scryptmail.com for our more email communication, PlusGuidance for our live text sessions, and VSee for video conference sessions.
I offer a free 30min session for live text and video conference sessions so that we can check for any technical problems and make sure we are confident we can work together.
For email counselling, the first email is £10.
All subsequent sessions are £30/50min, and £30 per email. Payment has to be received via PayPal with a minimum of 24hrs before our session. For Monday sessions, invoices need to be settled by Friday 6pm UK time, or the session will be considered cancelled.
