This is no "Darling Buds of May" rustic sugar, this is heart-pulsing passion at the dawning of the industrial age.Nicolas Roeg's directing is akin to greatness, the peacocking of Terence Stamp showing Julie Christie his swordmanship in one scene is breathtaking.

A perfect cast in Ralph Bates,Julie Christie and Terence Stamp add to this truly being a classic. If you like films of great cinematic beauty, incredible acting and unforgettable scenes then this is one film any fan of the cinema can not live without.I cannot recommend this film highly enough.
