New Starter House Rules:
1. All staff must wear appropriate clothing for work:
- Chefs should be in CLEAN Chef’s Uniforms with appropriate non-slip, closed-toe footwear and must wear a chef’s hat or hair net at all times.
- Kitchen Porters and cleaners should be in clean clothes, short sleeves and with appropriate footwear that is non-slip and closed-toe. If handling food, you should also wear a hat or hair net.
- All Front of House staff are expected to wear smart shirts or blouses. These should be black. Footwear should be smart but practical, closed-toe and non-slip. Black trousers or black jeans should be worn – no other shorts, combats, jeans etc are permitted. Long hair should always be tied back.
- The above rules may be changed during periods of exceptional weather BUT only with the express permission of the Pub Manager/Head Chef.
2. Nail varnish is NOT permitted to be worn at any time. Any member of staff wearing nail varnish will be asked to remove it straight away and will be sent home unpaid to do so if necessary.
3. Staff are expected to arrive on site in a punctual manner so that you are ready for work at the start of your shift.
4. All staff are expected to adhere to their Induction training.
5. Staff are only permitted to have their mobile phones on them in the following scenarios:
- If you are a member of management and require your phone for work purposes.
- If you are working alone and feel safer and more secure with a phone on you IN CASE OF EMERGENCIES – not to update your Facebook!
6. You are permitted to drink draught soft-drinks, tea and coffee free of charge when on duty. All draught soft drink consumption must be recorded in the “Staff Drinks Book”. Bottled soft drinks and alcoholic drinks are not permitted. If you are bought a drink by a customer you must print the receipt, have the on-duty manager authorise it with a signature and ‘redeem’ the receipt after your shift.
7. All staff are entitled to paid holiday from work, you can request this through the “Holiday Request Form” on the www.pubadmin.co.uk website. However, make sure you read the rules governing holiday on the request form and also in your Contract of Employment.
8. All staff are entitled to a 25% discount off of their food bill at any of our 3 sites for up to 4 people, however, we reserve the right to remove this benefit at any time if we feel it is being abused.
