E-Learning Annual Renewal
UKATA provides the opportunity for Members to apply for approval of an Additional Course from the Portfolio of Additional Course Syllabi available.

Members must comply with the relevant application process, course Syllabi, Policies, Guidance and appropriate Specification Documents in order to gain and retain the Additional Course approval. Failure to meet these requirements may result in the Additional Course being withdrawn from the Member.

This Additional Course annual application will be subject to an Annual Quality Management Fee, Audit Fee and Annual Registration Fee in accordance with the Fee Schedule.

Please use the below checklist to ensure your E-Learning course is compliant with the UKATA Standards for E-Learning.

The developer has an asbestos competent person on the development teamA statement of limitation is included and states the intended audience for the courseThe E-Learning course fully complied with the UKATA Syllabus for Asbestos AwarenessThe E-Learning course is divided into modules as set out in the UKATA Standards for Asbestos Awareness E-LearningThe course does not allow elements/pages to be skippedAll modules are set out and studied sequentiallyIt is impossible to progress to the next module without successfully passing the modular test at 100%Interactive elements are included throughout the courseIs voice over included (recommended)?The course duration is between one hour forty minutes and two hours including the final exam and is advertised as such.Knowledge test is in place at the end of each module which must be passed before proceeding.The knowledge test contains at least three questions at the end of each module.These are present as multiple choice questions or other appropriate formats.If 100% is not achieved the delegate shall be required to complete the module again.The final exam consists of 15 multiple choice questions taken from the UKATA Question Bank.A minimum of 20 minutes and a maximum of 40 minutes are allowed to complete the final exam.The pass mark is 80% (12 out of 15 correct) for the final exam.If the candidate fails the course the system takes the candidate back to re-sit the examinationIf a candidate further fails the second attempt the system does not allow the candidate to proceed and advises they contact the course provider.The course is web based to allow for upgrades as and when required.Tutor support is available via email and telephone.Clear identification of user support is visible throughout the course.The site is easy and clear to navigate with instructions clearly visible on the screen.The system will automatically generate unique certificates via API code only.A robust method of identifying the candidate sitting the course is in place. This must include full name on certification. The delegate must be able to acknowledge that they are who they say they are and they have undertaken the course themselves without any external assistance.A robust method of recording the time taken by a delegate to complete the course including delegate behaviour during the permitted timescales is in place. Time taken for the final exam (and TNA if applicable) is identified separately.The candidate has unique log-in details.Terms and Conditions must be accepted by the candidate before they undertake the course.Clear guidance is given to the candidate to undertake the course in a suitable environment to allow effective study to take place. The candidate is also advised of the suitability of hardware used for course study. This guidance shall be displayed at the point of sale.The candidate is given clear guidance on suitable hardware to undertake the E-Learning course. This must state that a preferred screen size of 10 inches or more is strongly recommended, although an absolute minimum of 7 inches is required. The hardware device shall also support a mechanism for video in the format offered by the E-Learning provider.The computer system supporting the E-Learning course is robust and available on line at all times.The LMS is securely hosted (preferably on a dedicated private server hosted in a secure data centre).The server hardware is adequately protected by a firewall appliance.A back-up of the E-Learning system is taken daily and stored securely off site.
Membership Fees

To avoid a delay in processing your annual renewal, all fees should be paid within 30 days of your E-Learning expiry date. The Subscription & Quality Management fee are non-refundable. The audit fee is refundable should the application be withdrawn prior to the audit being conducted. Your E-Learning annual renewal application will not be processed until all monies due have been paid.

*In accordance with the UKATA Standards for E-Learning, Quality Management audits will be conducted by UKATA at regular intervals throughout the term of E-Learning Membership.
