    Leonardo De Chirico is the pastor of Breccia di Roma, a church that he helped plant in Rome in 2009. Previously, Leonardo planted and pastored an evangelical church in Ferrara, Italy, from 1997 to 2009. He earned degrees in History (University of Bologna), Theology (ETCW, Bridgend, Wales) and Bioethics (University of Padova). His PhD is from King's College (London); it was published as Evangelical Theological Perspectives on Post-Vatican II Roman Catholicism. In 2015, he published A Christian Pocket Guide to Papacy through Christian Focus. He is a lecturer of Historical Theology at Istituto di Formazione Evangelica e Documentazione in Padova, Italy. Additionally, Leonardo is the Director of the Reformanda Initiative, which aims to equip evangelical leaders to better understand and engage with Roman Catholicism, and the leader of the Rome Scholars & Leaders Network (RSN).

  • The Rome Scholars & Leaders Network seeks to create a context for evangelical scholars and leaders to study and evaluate Roman Catholic theology and practice in the heart of Rome. To this end, we require participants to do each of the following priorto arriving in Rome:

    Read a selection of pre-assigned materials. We will provide a list of readings shortly after acceptance, along with electronic copies of all articles/chapters. Participants may be required to purchase one or two books.

    Complete a collection of writing assignments These assignments will be related to and distributed with the reading materials.

    Submit an original academic paper, lecture or sermon If an article, this could be an original article or a chapter that may be a part of a larger work. Ideally, but not necessarily, your submission would relate to Roman Catholic theology or practice, or evangelical theology and practice. This paper mustbe written in or translated into English.
