Applications are now open until Friday 1 March 2024.
To be eligible, students must be 18 - 20 years old (or will be 18 by July 2024 - exceptions may apply, please contact us for more details). Applicants must either be in Year 13 at a UK school and plan to study sciences or maths at university OR be a first year undergraduate student at a UK University. We also accept applications from students who are currently on a gap year. Successful applicants will be required to attend an interview in London, expected to be in early March.
This year, after careful consideration and to allow the academic standard of the programme to be upheld, the 2024 ISSI will run as a hybrid programme comprised of two components.
A 4-week digital scientific curriculum will be held from June 30th to July 25th, 2024. This will allow for remote participation in lectures, panels, and collaborative activities.
Following this, and pending a review of security conditions closer to the date, there will be an optional in-person social & scientific programme from July 28th to August 8th, 2024 hosted on and around the Weizmann Institute campus.
Applicants successful at the interview stage will be required to make a minimum contribution of £350 towards the digital scientific programme. The balance of the programme cost will be offered in the form of a scholarship from Weizmann UK and through contributions from our generous donors. Participation in the in-person programme will not be eligible for scholarship and as such the cost of this element of the programme (to be determined) will be fully payable by the student.
Students wishing to travel to the Weizmann Institute must complete consent and medical forms.
To apply for the programme, you will need to upload a passport style photograph and ask two teachers to provide an online reference to complete your application. If you have any questions or any issues completing this form please email scienceeducation@weizmann.org.uk or call 0207 424 6860.
