• Y’s Men International Charter Check List

  • Use this checklist to ensure you have completed all requirements before submitting the application through the online submission tool.

    This checklist is not an application for charter.

    Tick each box as you check each requirement. Once all checklist items are marked, you will be able to proceed to the online application submission tool. 

  • Please check the name: {clubType} of {clubName}

  • Please make sure that the name is in conformity with the International Constitution, Article III, Section 1 and Guideline 302.

    Ensure the club name is identical (spelling, punctuation, etc) in all required documents.

     

    ARTICLE III – MEMBERSHIP

    Section 1 The membership of this Association shall consist of affiliated local clubs known as Y's Men's Clubs, Y's Women's Clubs, Y's Men and Women's Clubs or Y Service Clubs, hereinafter referred to as affiliated clubs.

    Guideline 302 Each club shall be known by at least the name of the city and/or state or country in which it is located, provided that in a community having more than one club each club shall add appropriate identifying matter.

    • Constitution and by-laws must conform with the Regional Constitution and By-Laws and the official Model Constitution for an affiliated club.
  • All new applications require a typed membership roster. You must download and complete the Roster Template before proceeding with this application.

  • Annual club dues should be set in the country's monetary denomination, exclusive of meals and all other costs.

  • The orientation session for the new officers, board and committee chairpersons by the sponsoring club and District Governor is required before the charter can be presented.

  • Please allow at least 4-6 weeks between the submission of this application and the Charter Date. No charters may be submitted with less than 4 week's notice.

  • The District that the new club belongs to must be provided.

  • Name of sponsor club, and name, address and e-mail address of sponsor club president must be provided.

    If this application is eligible for an Extension Beyond Borders Award, the name of the club that initiated the charter and the details of a contact person should also be available.

  • The details of where the charter certificate should be sent (Club President, Regional Director, Regional Office, other) must be provided.

  • The details of meeting day, time, frequency and venue must be provided.

  • Based on the checklist, you do not yet have all the necessary requirements prepared to charter this club. Ensure all items on the checklist are complete before proceeding.
