Please note that attendance on ALL relevant Course Hadracha events listed below, including Kehillah (Community) Hours and Tikkun (Social Action) Hours, is compulsory. You will be asked to sign in at each event and failure to attend will directly influence participants' applications to lead on RSY-Netzer events.
Madatzim must complete 15 hours of volunteering in a Reform community over the course of the programme. Examples include being a teaching assistant at Cheder, organising an event in your community or leading youth clubs at a synagogue. This is essential to give you practical experience of leading before you do so on future RSY-Netzer events.
If you are not already actively involved in your community or not part of a Reform community we can arrange for you to achieve these hours.
Social Action Hours
Madatzim must complete 15 hours of Social Action work over the course of the programme! This is part of RSY-Netzer's dedication to Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World), as one of our ideological pillars. Examples include helping out at Mitzvah Day, volunteering in a soup kitchen or helping at an old peoples’ home.
RSY-Netzer will also provide social action opportunities throughout the year, however, it's even better if you proactively seek out social action oppurtunities that you're passionate about!
These hours are a perfect opportunity to put what you learn into action.
All hours must be logged and signed off by a professional you are working with by 1 June 2018 to complete Course Hadracha. Further details about logging these hours will be given at Course Hadracha launch.
All events are compulsory for becoming a madrich/a (leader) with RSY-Netzer.
Events will happen in the London area except for Machane Hadracha.
Make sure to put these dates in your diary now!

Pesach Garinim Planning Weekend
This is a residential shabbaton (weekend) to continue building the skills and learning the values needed for leadership. If there are any dates within this week that you are unable to attend please let us know by emailing us at email@example.com.

Discipline Procedure - Three strikes and out
RSY-Netzer staff strive to discuss with an individual all behaviours observed that are outside of the accepted norms in an attempt to help young people understand the implications of the behaviour and therefore change those behaviours. Sometimes there is a need to take more affirmative action, in which case all RSY-Netzer staff have been instructed to operate according to the following disciplinary procedure:
In the event that a programme participant is found engaged in illegal activity or anything deemed particularly serious or dangerous by RSY-Netzer staff, they will immediately activate Stage Three. The participant will be sent home without warning and at their family's own cost.
Being sent home from an RSY-Netzer event will affect your chances of being accepted onto future programmes.
If any participant feels that s/he has been the subject of unfair treatment by any member of staff or voluntary leader s/he has the right to submit a formal letter of complaint to the Director of Youth, Students & Young Adults. Any complaints will be dealt with seriously and promptly. In the event that you are not satisfied with the response, you may pursue your complaint with the Chief Executive or Chair of the Board of The Movement for Reform Judaism to achieve a satisfactory resolution. The Movement Rabbi and the Chair can be contacted at the Sternberg Centre.
