If you are interested in finding out more about teaching in a Secondary School with a view to investigating possible career routes, then please read the following guidance.
We are able to host prospective trainee teachers for School Experience Placements in the months of October, November, December, January, February, March, April and May for a maximum of 3 days per calendar month. There is a fee of £15 per day which will be invoiced to you after your booking. This must be paid 7 days prior to your School Experience date to secure your place. The first day's payment will not be refunded. If you are successfully recruited on one our ITT training programmes then the cost of day 2 and 3 will be refunded once the course commenced.
Once we have received your request, we will respond with confirmation of your placement and information about the placement.
You will be able to apply for School Experience if you:
The content of your degree must be directly relevant to the subject you wish to teach (i.e. at least 50% of the modules studied must be directly relevant).
For example, a degree in Law would not enable you to train to teach English, but a degree in Accounting and Finance may enable you to teach Business Studies (if you studied sufficient content of direct relevance). However, if your degree was in a different subject, Subject Knowledge Enhancement Courses are available for some subjects to enaequip you with the knowledge to teach these.
Please select the statement that most closely matches your circumstances, so that we can provide you with the most relevant information:
Have you achieved a GCSE grade C or 4 (or equivalent) or above in the following subjects? If you have studied overseas but have not had your qualifications formally recognised as equivalent, please state ‘No’.
Please list the subjects and grade for each of your A Level qualifications (or equivalents).
Please enter the information regarding your degree below, giving your predicted degree class if you are currently studying.
