Bikeability Learn to Ride and Level 1 courses will take place at the rear of Old Hall school in Brampton on the playground. Sessions will be either 09.30 - 12.45 or 13.30 - 15.45.
Bikeability Level 2 and 3 courses will start from either the Queen's Park North Car Park or Old Hall school at 9.30am. The courses will finish at approximately 12.45pm.
Ideally trainees will have their own bicycle and helmet. We can hire bikes for £5.00 per course, helmet hire is free.
All courses will be led by two national standard qualified cycle instructors who have DBS checks and first aid training.
Bikeability Learn to Ride and Level 1 will take place in groups of up to 12 children and will take place in a traffic free area (school playground).
Please note for Level 1 trainees should be able to ride unaided for at least a minute in a straight line and round corners. If not at that level of competency then a Learn to Ride sessions is better.
Bikeability Level 2 will take place in groups of up to 4. Trainees will be riding on trails and quiet roads and will be interacting with traffic.
Please note trainees should have the following levels of competency to take part - trainees need to be able to start and stop with full control, be able to ride in a straight line and round corners and with one hand.
Bikeability Level 3 incorporates multi lane roads, roundabouts, traffic light controlled junctions and busy roads. Groups will be a max of 4.
Please note trainees should have the following levels of competency to take part - trainees need to be used to riding on quieter roads and be able to fully control their bike.
We require a minimum number per course, if we don't reach that number the course may be cancelled and a refund of the deposit given.
