Level: Introductory
What will I learn?
Groups, individuals and organisations working with children and young people are increasing being encouraged to look at the positive aspects of enabling children to take proportionate risks to support development. Embracing a risk-benefit approach is part of changing our regulatory culture. This workshop takes an introductory look at how to support staff to allow challenge and adventure into their settings, offering easy-to-use tools to support play providers to balance the benefits of an activity with any inherent risk, taking into account the risks while recognising the benefits to children and young people of challenging play experiences.
This workshop is invaluable for all those who manage or are involved in spaces, settings and projects in which children and young people play and participate.
This workshop has outdoor elements. Please ensure that you bring suitable clothing and footwear for the outdoors. Tea and biscuits will be provided.
Cost: £30 per person (£25 per person for multiple bookings)
