    • Section 6 - Authorisation
    • 6 - Authorisation to charge the APC against a project code

    • Based on the information you have provided, this article is not eligible for UKRI or other Health Charities open access funding.

      The University of Nottingham manages UKRI, Wellcome Trust and BHF funds to cover the APC (Article Processing charges) for original research articles funded by them (including non-commissioned reviews). The UKRI open access policy also covers conference proceedings. Eligible authors* can apply for open access funding as long as they are Wellcome Trust or BHF funded (it is expected that the grant holder would be the applicant completing this form) or the paper acknowledges UKRI funding. UKRI and/or WT or BHF funded publications must be made open access under a CC BY licence in order to be eligible for open access funding. Please visit our open access website to get further details about the funding requirements and eligibility.

      * Eligible authors are:

      • PhD students and current staff members with a contract of employment with UoN who are the lead and/or corresponding author of the paper.
      • UoN co-authors when the lead and corresponding author of the paper is affiliated with an institution which has no open access funding available.

      Former staff members who acknowledge affiliation with UoN on the paper may be considered.

    • Since this application is not eligible for UKRI, Wellcome Trust or BHF open access funding, the applicant will need to provide a project code to pay the APC against and the signature of the appropriate person to authorise the spending. Both the applicant and the person who authorises the spending will receive a copy of this submission by email. The person who authorises the spending will be asked to update this section of the form by confirming the personal details and email address provided by the applicant and entering his/her signature and the project code to be used for APC payment. Once the authorisation details are fully completed, the person who authorises the spending should click 'submit'. When the section is fully completed and the form resubmitted, both the applicant and the person who authorises the spending will receive an update.

    • I authorise Research and Innovation to charge the APC of this article to the project code stated below.
