FAB ACADEMY TUITION FEES
The Fab Academy tuition fees are variable. The price students pay for the course is comprised by Central Costs and Local Costs.
Central costs are fixed: 2500$ for Fab Labs located in America, Asia, Africa and Oceania and 2500€ for Fab Labs located in Europe.
Local Costs are variable, decided by the node. Nodes can calculate how much the local costs are and add this price to the central cost.
The local cost must cover: materials, operations, access to facilities and instruction.
Tuition fees must cover both local and global expenses, cost breakdown explained at the Fab Academy website.
Unless you are employed by the Fab Lab that hosts the Fab Academy, the minimum fees assigned to Instruction are 1250USD per student. If you are a Graduate that is instructing for the first time, 50% of that amount goes to the Mentor/Guru that will support you in the first cycle.
All the payments from students will go through Central Administration. Students will not pay tuition fees to Local Labs or Intermediaries.
Reimbursements of Local Costs to the Nodes will be done in 2 installments:
50% In February, after every student has paid the corresponding fees according to the deadlines (70% of fees before mid-January)
50% in September, after every
has paid full fees.
Reimbursements will be done after the Lab sends an Invoice for each amount.
Your Lab is in charge of paying your fees.
