Register to assist with Cambridge's Bonfire Night Bucket Collection
Thank you for kindly volunteering your time to help to preserve this free event for our community. You will be helping to collect money towards the cost of the display and to support the organising charity 'Cambridge Live' who deliver Cambridge City Council's free to attend City Events programme. Registered Charity Number 1159593. Please complete this form to register as a volunteer bucket collector between 5.30pm and 8.30pm on Monday 5th November 2018 at this year's Cambridge Bonfire Night Celebrations and Firework display. There will be a voucher for a free meal and drink for use at participating catering stalls given to everyone who takes part in the collection. Our company policy stipulates that collectors must be over 18 years of age to participate in this charity collection. Please feel free to share the link to this form with friends, family, and colleagues who may also be interested in assisting with this year's Bonfire Night Bucket Collection. Please read the following Volunteers Agreement:
Cambridge Live encourages and welcomes volunteers. This agreement sets out the relationship between a volunteer and Cambridge Live. This agreement is not intended to be a legally binding contract between us and may be cancelled at any time at the discretion of either party. Neither of us intend any employment relationship to be created either now or at any time in the future. You are not bound to work by this agreement, neither is Cambridge Live bound to provide work. However, once you have accepted a volunteer placement you will be expected to follow the guidelines in this agreement. You are encouraged to let us know if you’d like any clarification on anything in this agreement.
Your role as a volunteer:
The tasks that you will be asked to undertake as a volunteer are: As a collector for the 2018 Fireworks Display on Midsummer Common you will undertake the cash donation collection. Please arrive at Midsummer Common on Monday 5th November ready for the 5.30pm collectors briefing.
What you can expect from us:
We will provide all collectors with appropriate equipment and briefings. A coordinator will supervise the volunteers on the night and deal with any issues as they arise.
We have agreed that you will be available on November 5th. If, for any reason, you will not be attending we would be grateful if you could let us know as soon as possible so that a substitute can be found or different arrangements can be made.
If for any reason your performance is unsatisfactory and there are no reasonable explanations, your services may not be used in the future.
Health & Safety:
Although you are not regarded as an employee of Cambridge Live you are required to comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. Cambridge Live attaches the greatest importance to health and safety and provides a safe working environment. You should ensure that you do not put yourself (or colleagues & the public) at risk. You are required to abide by the terms of our Health & Safety Policy which will be provided on request.

You should conduct yourself with the highest standards of honesty and integrity at work; follow reasonable instructions from your coordinator; attend work in a condition able to carry out your duties; act professionally and treat others with dignity and respect. You should be diligent not to publicly express a personal view that is in conflict with Cambridge Live’s views or objectives during this agreement.
As part of your time working for Cambridge Live, you may be given access to information about the company and its practices that is confidential and sensitive. You are required not to disclose any confidential information about Cambridge Live to anyone outside the organisation both during and after your placement.
Ideas and issues:
You may have ideas for the better performance of your duties or of ways in which we can meet our objectives as an organisation. Please discuss these with your volunteer coordinator. If run into any problems when performing your duties you should discuss any complaint or problems with the coordinator.
Either you or the organisation can terminate this agreement with or without notice at any time.
