Why join the London Blockchain Foundation (LBCF)?
The LBCF is a fast growing member-led organisation uniting its members who come from a wide range of industries and in various ways connected to blockchain, through an opportunity to:
- meet and network with professionals active across a range of sectors who are knowledgeable in blockchain and its application
- further develop and enhance their knowledge, skills and experience in blockchain and DLT
- access blockchain-related opportunities, actively participate in the life of the foundation and help to promote and advocate for the industry
The LBCF will deliver these benefits to members through the following:
- curated events on topical blockchain matters such as public lectures, debates, showcasing of blockchain initiatives, etc
- networking and social events for members
- workshops and in-detail educational sessions
- opportunities to speak and present at various blockchain related events
- associate benefits through partnerships with other organisations and services.
- a blockchain resource/sharing board including jobs, third-party events, opportunities seeking investment, etc
These initiatives will be evolved and expanded upon to align with LBCF growth and development.
LBCF Membership Objectives
The LBCF aims to get a right balance between attracting members who have already achieved a certain degree of proficiency and experience in blockchain technology, applications, business models and regulatory matters and can therefore better placed to provide critical commentary on current blockchain matters; and those who are simply keen to learn about this exciting and emerging area.
LBCF Membership Types
In line with membership objectives and to be inclusive while also retaining a high standard of debate, the LBCF offers two types of membership:
Full Member (£95 annual fee)
Eligibility (one of the following)
- Certified completion of a recognized blockchain course, similar to those given by Oxford Said Business School, London School of Economics, etc
- At least 1 year experience working in blockchain initiatives, whether for start-ups, corporates, academia, etc
- At least 1 year associate membership of the LBCF, and registration / attendance of at least 5 events within a 12-month period prior to the application for full membership
Benefits
- Access to all events, including members only events
- At least 1 week access to events registration prior to being made open to the public
- Invitation to join LBCF working groups
- Right to vote for LBCF directors, and other governance matters decided by general voting
- Right to stand for election for LBCF directorship
Associate Member (£75 annual fee)
Eligibility
- A self-professed interest in blockchain and an understanding of the basic concept
Benefits
- Access to selected members-only events and those open to the public
- At least 1 week access to events registration prior to being made open to the public
- Eligibility to join as member upon attending at least 5 LBCF events within a 12-month period prior to the application for full membership
