At Freedom of Mind we are once again looking to expand our exciting and dynamic team. We are looking for individuals to help us become even more effective and far-reaching in our campaign to de-stigmatize and raise awareness about mental health and mental illness.
We want to continue having conversations, educating others and creating positive action and change, but to do that we need you! If you are looking to be a part of a vibrant, unique and fast growing organisation that is helping to change attitudes towards mental health, then this is an opportunity for you.
Freedom of Mind is a Community Interest Company, founded in 2016 by a group of young people with lived experience of poor mental health. We aim to initiate conversation, provide educational platforms and positively change the way that people talk about their own and others mental health. Currently based in Bristol, we bring Freedom of Mind Festival to the city every year.
We are looking for several new people to join our team. We are recruiting for volunteers to be:
Business Development and Fundraising assistants
Social media assistants
More information about each role can be found at the bottom of this page. We understand the difficulties around volunteering your time; the whole team is made up of volunteers. This includes everyone - from the events stewards to company directors. We're a group of people coming together to make a difference, and would like to think you'd like to make a difference too.
This application form contains four sections and takes an estimated 15/20 minutes to complete. The first asks your personal details, the second asks for monitoring information, the third asks generally why you want to join us and any general experience you have, and the final section asks for more details around the role(s) you are interested in and any relevant experience you have working in that/those particular area(s). Although this form asks about your experience, we recognise that not everyone has had the opportunity to gain much experience, and so we also look for passion, enthusiasm and creativity in your application. We provide flexibility within the Freedom of Mind team, encouraging each other to get involved in other areas where they want to gain more experience, and even the opportunity to move roles if appropriate.
We recognise that stigma affects different communities in different ways and so Freedom of Mind C.I.C. welcomes and encourages applications from any person regardless of disability, gender, ethnicity, age, religion or sexual orientation.
We understand you may be hesitant to give personal details but please be assured that the first two sections of the form will be detached from the rest on receiving your application and will not affect the selection process. The details you provide are treated confidentially and are for monitoring purposes only.
If you have any questions regarding this form, the application process, or how your information is stored, please contact Katie: email@example.com.
Deadline for applications is the 23rd January 2019, and interviews will be held on the 31st January and 1st February 2019.
