Before booking, are our tours right for you?

Scot AnSgeulaiche's tours have a certain style of travel and we want to make sure it is right for you. Review the following before committing to booking your place.
Be sure that each person that you are booking on to the tour:
- Is active enough to spend much of the day on their feet, walking and on a few occasions hiking on uneven ground and up ascents of a few hundred feet.
- Can meet the luggage requirments (for multi-day tours) shown on the FAQ page.
- Is socialable and will engage in a fun way with our small group of 6-14 travellers (for public tours)

New tour form

Booking just yourself or with a travel partner(s)
- You can book just yourself as a solo traveller.
- Just yourself but sharing a room (on multi-day tours) with a friend who will book and pay separately.
- You can book as a couple. That's someone you will be paying for and sharing a double room with (on multi-day tours).
- You can book as a family group. That's 3+ people but only one payment.

If you are booking on behalf of your spouse or other family members, you will need their:
- Height
- Weight
- Any relevant medical conditions (information kept confidential)
- and preferences for optional extra activities (e.g. ponytrekking)

Deposit payments are taken at the end of this booking process by redirecting you to Paypal where you will need a Card or a PayPal account.

You can find the full conditions of deposit on the T&C page here (new window), which details that should you wish to cancel your place and have your deposit refunded, you have 14 days to cancel after booking. After that time, your deposit is non-refundable.

Note that balance payments for longer tours will be made via an electronic bank transfer (not card, cash, PayPal or cheque). They can be made in US or AU Dollars, Pounds Sterling or Euros. Balance payments for single day-tours can use PayPal or cash. Full details for all payment methods are contained in the Tour Agreement which is sent to you in about a month.

As a solo traveller, you will have your own room with your own bath/shower room, usually en-suite, with a double or twin bed.
Couples will be offered a double bedroom first though they may not always be available. However, if you do prefer two twin beds, we will try to accommodate you, but twin rooms are becoming rarer in B&Bs and are allocated to friends first. If you absolutely have to have twin beds, we may be able to accommodate you in a nearby hotel, however their tariffs are higher and this will be added to your total tour price.
Friends or family sharing a room: Twin beds will be offered when available. They are becoming rarer in the private B&Bs that we prefer to use. If no twins are available, do you mind sharing a double bed with your rooming partner at one stop (usually two nights)?

If you absolutely have to have twin beds, we may be able to accommodate you in a nearby hotel, however their tariffs are higher and this will be added to your total tour price.

Health and activity: I need to understand the physical abilities and any medical conditions of you and anyone else you're booking on to the tour so that I can plan appropriate activities and timings.
Misrepresenting a guest's abilities might negatively impact their enjoyment of the tour and that of the others.

Having a medical condition does not necessarily preclude participation, but I do need to know what activites you might have difficulty with. This personal information will not be passed on to anyone outside of Scot AnSgeulaiche and our tour guides.

Pony Trekking. If available, would you like to participate? This is usually for an hour or two, guided by a qualified rider, through beautiful areas of the Highlands. Usually, no prior experience is required. It is an optional extra and costs around 30GBP. Limited to 185 lbs maximum.

After you have made your deposit via Paypal, you will be redirected to a "Thank you" page back on our web site.

There you can download important information travel documents such as the Packing List, the instructions for the Tour Meet Point. Please give the process time to connect to the page. DO NOT LEAVE THAT PAGE UNTIL YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED THE DOCUMENTS.
