I Will Not Be Erased / gal-dem Mentoring Competition Terms and Conditions
This competition is promoted by Walker Books Ltd., a company incorporated in England under registered number 1378601 and having its registered office at 87 Vauxhall Walk, London, SE11 5HJ (the “Promoter”) and is not open to employees of the Promoter, their families and anyone else professionally connected to this competition
- The competition will run from Tuesday, 9th July 2019 until Friday, 18th October 2019
- Closing date for entries is 23.59 on 18th October 2019
- Entries must be submitted via the entry form linked on @galdemzine Instagram, Twitter or Facebook accounts, or via the entry from on www.walkerya.com
- Your entry must be a letter to your older self and no more than 500 (five hundred) words in length, without illustrations
- To submit entries for this competition you must be (i) aged between 14 – 17 years at the time of entry; (ii) in full time attendance at either school or sixth form or college during the academic year Autumn 2019-Summer 2020; (iii) resident in the U.K. (excluding N. Ireland) and (iv) follow the entry instructions given, providing all the information requested
- Your entry must include your name, your age at the date of entry and your email address
- Entries containing invalid e-mail addresses will be automatically disqualified
- Entries received for those aged outside the age category (14-17 years) or other qualifications of entry will be automatically disqualified
- Entries received after the closing date for this competition as stated will not be considered
- The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries that are late, lost, damaged, illegible or corrupted in transit
- No purchase necessary
• The prizes offered for this competition are non-transferable and there is no cash alternative; in the event a prize offered is unavailable a similar prize of greater or equal value will be substituted
- There will be one main prize winner and two runner up prize winners selected from all qualifying and valid entries received by the closing date
- All prize winners will have their entry uploaded to the gal-dem website, receive a goody bag containing a selection of Walker Books’ titles and other stationery items and a £50 Waterstones’ gift card. The main prize winner will also have the opportunity for two of the contributors to i will not be erased to come to their school (subject to the school’s consent) to do a workshop or school event
- The winners will be notified within 30 days after the closing date. Entries will not be returned
- The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into
- The winners must claim their prize within 30 days of notification by the
- Promoter otherwise they will forfeit their prize
- By entering, all entrants without payment or compensation a) grant the Promoter and gal-dem a worldwide royalty-free perpetual licence to edit, publish and use their entries in any and all media (including print and online) and b) consent to the use of their name, city of residence, photograph and/or image for publicity purposes in all media carried out by the Promoter and gal-dem
- By entering this competition, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions which may be amended at any time by the Promoter
- The rules of this competition shall be governed by UK law
- All personal details submitted with each entry will be held in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy (see link on competition page) and all applicable laws relating to the protection of Personal Data or privacy which have effect in the United Kingdom from time to time, including (but not limited to) the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulations
- By entering this competition, an entrant is providing his/her personal data to the Promoter as "data controller". Any data submitted by entrants will be used by the Promoter only for the purposes of administering this competition and will not be shared with other companies except to the extent necessary to provide the prize and to exercise the publicity rights granted above and all data will be deleted following completion of the competition, unless otherwise stated in the entry details.
