About the job
In the role as Legal Counsel you will be part of the legal team that provides legal and compliance support to the entire CIP organisation and the Copenhagen Infrastructure funds under management by CIP. You will be joining a team of five dedicated legal professionals who work in close cooperation to manage a wide range of legal and regulatory matters across CIP’s activities globally. The team provides legal advice and guidance with respect to a broad range of applicable legal and contractual governance requirements related to the funds and their respective investments. They support the investment team and asset management with transaction related requirements and provide legal advice to the management in CIP as well as other internal stakeholders.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Legal support related to investment fund management, including the establishment and maintenance of fund structures and fund documentation
Advising on general business law issues and managing the legal issues of CIP
Drafting and negotiating a broad range of contracts and agreements
Legal tasks related to the investments of the funds in close corporation with CIP’s investment team and asset management functions
Communication with external stakeholders on legal and regulatory matters, including the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finanstilsynet)
Management of external legal counsels locally and globally
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of relevant professional experience as a lawyer in a leading law firm, fund management company and/or in-house legal position in a large international corporation. An ideal candidate can also possess a position as Assistant Attorney in a leading law firm graduating in near future. To be successful in this position, it is essential that you have extensive knowledge and experience with corporate law and/or financial regulation. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and interpersonal skills and can navigate and thrive in a fast-paced high-performance environment. Further, the ideal candidate possesses an ability to draft documents promptly and in a precise manner. Excellent command of written and spoken English is required in this role.
