Part II: Special Needs

We want to make sure everyone is able to participate as fully as possible in the workshop. You should be comfortable walking and standing during the afternoon excursions (including the stairs in the metro). The workshop and all indoor spaces in Paris are non-smoking, but we can't guarantee you won't encounter cigarette smokers on the sidewalks or café terraces. For meals there will always be vegetarian options available, but be aware that Paris is awash in bread, cheese and nuts. Please be honest about your abilities and needs (as applicable to the workshop) and we will do our best to accommodate them.

NOTE: As usual when traveling, it's a good idea to bring along any medications that you might need as well as their prescriptions in case you need replacements. We highly recommend participants purchase travel insurance that includes medical coverage.

Part IV: Terms & Conditions

Please read carefully, this is where the language gets a little official.
YOUR REGISTRATION INCLUDES:
- A welcome reception the evening before the workshop begins
- 5 morning sessions with coffee, tea, juice, and French pastries
- 5 lunches with the group
- 4 excursions with the group
- A wine-tasting dinner on the final evening
- Paris transportation passes
- Smartphone rental (and Wifi hotspot)
- A private consultation session with the instructor
NOT INCLUDED: Flights to Paris, airport transfers, and accommodation.

PAYMENT & CANCELLATIONS
- A €500 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot for the workshop. The final balance must be made before October 5th to confirm your attendance in the workshop.
- Cancellations before September 7th will be refunded minus the €500 deposit. No refunds are possible after September 7th, 2019.
Exceptions to this cancellation policy cannot be made for any reason, including personal emergencies. There is no refund for leaving a program early or arriving late. There are no refunds for any part of the program that you choose to opt out of. We reserve the right to cancel the program prior to its start, in which case all monies will be refunded.

TRAVEL INSURANCE
We strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance to protect yourself against changes in your circumstances, personal emergencies or illness, or any other events that may affect your participation in the Travel Writers Workshop. (we do not provide travel insurance).

PHOTO RELEASE
We will photograph and/or video group activities for use in our marketing materials. By participating in this workshop you agree you may appear in these promotional images.

RELEASE & ASSUMPTION OF RISK
I hereby acknowledge that I have voluntarily applied (the “Applicant”) to Secrets of Paris Travel Writers Workshop, conducted by Heather Stimmler (the “Operator”) and that the Operator may occasionally rely in part upon others to provide instruction, meals, tours, and transportation to and from such tours. The Operator, while exercising reasonable care in selecting such premises and independent contractors, does not guarantee without limitation their suitability or performance.

I understand that no refunds will be given for any part of the workshop that the Applicant chooses to opt out of. I further herein acknowledge and agree to release, absolve, indemnify and hold harmless the Operator, its organizers, and partners from any injury or loss caused by or resulting from the workshop accommodations or employment of any and all independent contractors (the “Agreement”), unless such injury or loss resulting from the gross negligence of the Operator in selecting such premises or employing such party(s).
