2. The Reviewer agrees to:
2.1. Provide peer review for the submitted manuscript within the agreed deadline and within the requested length. The length of peer review is explained in Clause 5 of this Agreement.
2.2. Be fully responsible for the review’s content, including, but not limited to its originality and academic quality.
2.3. Adhere to highest academic standards when performing the peer review, including, but not limited to novelty, significance, evaluating the fulfillment of the research hypothesis and others.
2.4. Agree to disclose his / her academic background, degrees and any other relevant information to the Publisher regarding his / her competencies to perform the review.
2.5. Remain anonymous upon the publication of the review together with the reviewed manuscript (peer review is done according to the Single-blind model)
2.6. Grant the Publisher the rights to publish, disseminate, license (including, but not limited to translation rights) and market the review together with its manuscript in all territories and languages.
3. The Publisher will:
3.1. Provide the reviewer with the reviewable manuscript within 2 working days after receiving it from the Author.
3.2. Remunerate the reviewer according to the time factor in which the review is performed and the length of the manuscript. Peer review remuneration is explained in Clause 4 of this Agreement.
3.3. Make an advance payment of 20% of the review fee to the reviewer before commencing the review and 80% of the review fee within 5 working days after receiving the ready review.
3.4. Publish the review together with the reviewed manuscript as a single publication of International Research Press.
3.5. Remain the owner of the peer review after having fulfilled all its obligations as listed in Clause 3.3.
4. Peer review fee
4.1. Peer review fee is determined based on two factors – the length of the manuscript and the time factor chosen by the author.
4.2. Review of manuscripts up to 300 pages will be calculated in the amount of 1.5 EUR per page.
4.3. Review of manuscripts starting from 301 and above pages will be calculated in the amount of 1 EUR per page.
4.4. Time Factors when performing the peer review:
4.4.1. Time Factor 1 means the peer review is done within 40 working days from the transfer of the advance payment of 20% of the fee. Multiplying factor for the fee is 1 (one).
4.4.2. Time Factor 2 means the peer review is done within 20 working days from the transfer of the advance payment of 20% of the fee. Multiplying factor for the fee is 2 (two).
4.4.3. Time Factor 3 means the peer review is done within 10 working days from the transfer of the advance payment of 20% of the fee. Multiplying factor for the fee is 3 (three).
4.5. Peer review fee is transferred by the Publisher to the Reviewer to the bank account or PayPal account indicated by the Reviewer.
4.6. The Reviewer will issue an invoice for the full peer review fee to the Publisher.
4.7. All tax contributions required by law to be paid in the Reviewer’s country of residence will be handled by the Reviewer himself / herself.
5. Length of the peer review is determined as follows:
5.1. For a manuscript consisting of up to 300 pages, the peer review will contain no less than 700 words.
5.2. For a manuscript consisting of up to 400 pages, the peer review will contain no less than 1050 words.
5.3. For a manuscript consisting of up to 500 pages, the peer review will contain no less than 1400 words.
5.4. For a manuscript consisting of up to 600 pages, the peer review will contain no less than 1750 words.
5.5. For a manuscript consisting of up to 700 pages, the peer review will contain no less than 2100 words.
5.6. For a manuscript consisting of more than 700 pages, the peer review will contain no less than 2450 words.
6. Miscellaneous
6.1. Parties agree that all official communication between them will be done via email.
6.2. Latvian law and EU law norms will be applicable to issues not regulated by this Agreement.
6.3. The place of Publisher's seat will have jurisdiction for all disputes.
6.4. In case of any disputes, Parties agree to negotiate. If negotiations fail, the issue is to be resolved in court of Republic of Latvia.
6.5. The Agreement becomes valid upon signatory of both parties.
6.6. The Agreement automatically terminates upon execution of the peer review service by the Reviewer and the remuneration to the Reviewer by the Publisher. Conditions listed in clauses 2.2., 2.3. 2.4. remain in effect after the termination of this Agreement.
