Arts & Culture - This award recognises groups/organisations who enhance their local areas, by conserving, protecting and promoting the Arts, Culture and Heritage of their local community through collective creative activities. Examples include: Drama, Music, Literature, Arts, Festivals, Conservation, and Heritage
Community & Civic Pride - This award recognises groups/organisations that provide a valuable service to their local community to ensure a good quality of life by enhancing a state of physical, mental and social well - being. Examples include; Community Centre’s, Community Alerts, Emergency/Support/Welfare Services
Community/Social Enterprise - This award recognises groups/organisations which endeavour to improve the economic welfare of their communities by initiating, managing and developing social and community enterprises or by undertaking initiatives which acknowledge the importance of local economic development. Examples include: Economic Development Initiatives; Heritage Projects; Community Tourism Initiatives; Community arts projects with a commercial element; local employment initiatives; Semi-commercial cultural and creative activities; local marketing initiatives; community and social services.
Environment - This award recognises groups/organisations working to enhance and develop their community and/or their locality from a social or environmental perspective, create a sense of pride and inclusivity in their area and who make their community an attractive place to live. Examples include: Community groups, Tidy Towns/Village, Environmental, Enterprise & Youth, Tourism, Resident Committees.
Healthy & Active Community - This award recognises groups/organisations that encourage a healthy community by promoting positive environments and initiatives that support and encourage physical activity, healthy lifestyles, and a sense of community connection. Examples include: Walking/Hiking Clubs, Scouts/Guides, Sports/Youth Clubs, indoor and outdoor activities and Physical Activity Programmes.
Social Inclusion - This award recognises groups/organisations that actively work in a supportive role in their communities and whose aim is to minimise social exclusion and/or help to improve the quality of life for socially excluded groups. Groups that make opportunities accessible for all to participate in. Examples include; Working with the elderly, People with Disabilities, Ethnic, Minority, Travelling Community, Young people in transition and the Homeless.
