    – Introduction

M10 exists to inspire young people, invest in their personal development and have an influential impact on their contribution to the world. We have created and proven a person-centred and holistic approach to leadership investment in young people.  Our approach adds value to their everyday experiences by improving their social, moral, spiritual, mental health and wellbeing which provides pathways towards a successful future.  We deliver this through a range of methods including: relational training, leadership development, active cross-cultural experiences, mentoring and coaching. M10 Missions as a faith-based organisation run by Christians provides Mission trip opportunities to people of all faiths as well as those professing no faith at all.

    – Mission Trips – Personal Safety and Security

You will be travelling with M10 Missions as part of a structured and managed volunteer team to another country. Your safety and security is of paramount concern to us. At all times, you must stay with the M10 Missions team under the direction of our trained DBS approved team leaders. You agree to adhere to the leadership and authority of M10 Missions at all times.  You agree to wear the M10 Missions team shirt and ID Tag provided in all airports and during transit with the M10 Missions team. This supports security processing and team member identification.
    2.1– Travel Vaccinations
M10 Missions follows government health warnings and advice for the trips they arrange.  Therefore, it is imperative that you agree to follow the same.  In signing this Agreement, you agree to consult your registered health nurse and take the necessary travel vaccinations for the trip you seek to participate in. It is your responsibility to seek advice over additional vaccinations suggested by your registered health nurse.
    2.2 – YWAM
Youth with A Mission is an inter-denominational, non-profit Christian, missionary organisation.  In partnering with this organisation, M10 Missions agrees to adhere to their code of practice, health and safety rules and leadership.  In signing this Agreement, you agree to the same.
    2.3 – E.S.T.A and Affidavit
ESTA stands for Electronic Standardised Travel Authorisation.  Flights to the USA cannot be boarded without an ESTA.  You agree to apply for and purchase this authorisation.  M10 Missions cannot accept any responsibility for failure to apply.  To verify that M10 Missions has parental consent to take your child (under 18) into the USA and across the Mexican Border, we require you to complete a legal document, referred to as an Affidavit, issued by a Notary Public (We will advise you of the nearest Notary Public and forward contact details to you).  M10 Missions cannot accept any responsibility if your child is refused entry into any country we pass through due to their failure to provide this documentation.  In signing this agreement, you accept full responsibility for arranging transport home and the costs associated, should this occur.

    2.3.1 – Border Control
Each country that M10 Missions travel to have their own border control protocol.  In some cases, there are additional costs in order to meet the requirements of that country and its border control.  In signing this Agreement, you agree to follow this protocol which may require an additional cost.
    3.0 – The M10 Volunteer Training
M10 Missions provides volunteer training, preparing you for participation in the M10 Mission’s trip.  We expect all volunteers and you agree to attend all training sessions. Details of the sessions will be provided.
    – Costs

M10 Mission trips cost £2500.00 per person. M10 Missions requires a deposit payment upon application, with final costs to be paid by May 1st (see 4.1). M10 Missions as a Registered Charity does not have funds available to subsidise shortfalls of funds for individual volunteers.  We require full payments to be made on time.  In signing this Agreement, you agree to pay the deposit upon application and full payment by May 1st.
    4.1 – Deposits and Payments
Payment of £100.00 is required upon application to take part in an M10 Mission. Failure to meet this deadline will result in your application being void and in respect of our GDPR policy, we will destroy all details held concerning you.  This deposit is refundable (but only for the purposes of a  nationwide lockdown preventing further progress of the trip) and covers administration costs. Applications for M10 Missions are accepted based on satisfactory applications and references. The application deadline for all applicants is NOVEMBER 15TH 2021.
You agree to make payments on the following dates:
Deposit of £100 upon application by November 15th 2021
    A minimum payment of £250 on December 1st 2021
    A minimum payment of £500 on January 31st 2022
Final Payment of £1,650.00 on May 1st 2022

    4.1.1 – Fundraising
The cost for the trip is £2500.  How you reach this total is your responsibility and you agree to this.  If you choose to fundraise by using a fundraising platform such as Just Giving or GoFundMe, £1000 is the maximum amount for which gift aid can be claimed. All other costs are a service provision by M10. The law applied to Gift Aid specifies that payment for services rendered cannot be gift aided and you agree to this.
    4.2 – Late Payments
If final payment is not received on 1st May, a 10% late penalty is levied to cover additional charges and administration that M10 Missions accrues. You agree to follow through on your commitment to ensure full payment is made by the above date. Please be aware that fundraising platforms e.g. Just Giving, GoFundMe etc. have their own schedules for making payments.  Consider this regarding our deadlines for payments.
4.3 – If you withdraw from the Trip
If for any reason, you withdraw from the trip, then payments up to the current date will not be refundable.  This is because M10 have to make payments in advance to cover costs with travel organisations and our partners. If withdrawal occurs, M10 cannot reclaim payments already made and there are additional cancellation fees charged to M10. In such circumstances, you agree to cover additional fees charged to M10 due to withdrawal.  You agree to take out appropriate insurance to cover circumstances where you have to withdraw from the trip.
4.4 – If M10 Missions has to postpone a trip
In the unfortunate event of the trip being postponed, matters will be dealt with in the following manner:
An email suggesting the possibility of postponement and the reasons, at least a month in advance.
An email detailing the decision to postpone and the reasons.  This email will outline the refund due to the volunteer and, in the case of the refund being made up of donations from others, suggestions as to how that sum of money can be utilised.
A request for a response from you outlining how you want the funds to be used/returned.
M10 will follow the instruction and request a receipt if the funds are returned.

    5.0 – Discipline (Specific to U18yr olds)
Due to the fact that M10 Missions partners with Homes of Hope (YWAM), it is necessary that all conduct and behaviour is representative of the values and principles of M10 Missions (see 1.0).  In the unfortunate event of disciplinary matters i.e. serious misconduct, the matter will be dealt with in the following manner:
    1. A verbal warning with a phone call home

    2. A verbal warning with a phone call home and a 1-day suspension

    3. A verbal warning with a phone call home to arrange a return flight at your expense.

It is not the wish of M10 Missions to send anyone home but they do need to consider the health  & safety and wellbeing of other volunteers, the future reputation of both organisations and of course, the needs of the individual(s) in question.
    5.1 – Use of Drugs & Alcohol
Smoking is not allowed in any enclosed workplace, public building or on public transport in the UK.  The partnering organisation (YWAM) operate a strict no smoking policy.  In case of those who do need to smoke, there will be a designated area where this is possible.  Alcohol must not be consumed whilst you are in the care of M10 Missions or YWAM and you agree to this ruling. The use of non-prescribed drugs is strictly prohibited and the use of or possession of them will be considered as serious misconduct (see 5.0).
6.0 – Valuables and Personal Possessions
We ask that you do not bring expensive personal items, jewellery or valuables with you on the trip. You agree to personal responsibility for your own valuables and all other possessions.  This includes cash, travellers’ cheques and bank cards.  Although we stay at a secure location once arrived, M10 Missions cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to your valuables or possessions throughout any part of a Mission trip.
    6.1 – Group Insurance
M10 Missions purchases group insurance which is included in the cost of the trip.  This is to ensure that all volunteers are appropriately covered specific to the type of activities we will be involved with. Should you require additional insurance due to health needs, please make this clear in your application.
