Corona virus & Appeals for our help.
Due to the current COVID-19 crisis, this past week has proved difficult at best and almost impossible at worst to fulfil some of the existing appeals we have already approved.
Unfortunately, but quite rightly, this is due to our suppliers taking the proper precautions to protect their employees and similarly you, from any possible interaction with each other and to heed the Government’s and Medical advice being offered.
Whilst we will still accept your applications for help, due to the above mentioned restrictions we are now facing, we may not be in a position to process some applications for the the following goods in the foreseeable future:-
Fridges* / Washing Machines* / Beds / Mattresses - not currently available
Items marked * may still be available, and if they are, you would need to ensure you are able to take these inside your home from the kerb and connect / plumb them in yourself. We will let you know after we have processed your application.
We are advised that gas & electric cookers are deemed essential and so therefore can be delivered and installed.
However; due to reductions in logistical staffing levels coupled with a change in our suppliers’ admin systems (as a result of remote working) deliveries of cookers and other electrical goods may take longer than usual - we will of course keep you informed of anticipated delivery dates if your application is approved.
Smaller electrical items such as microwaves, kettles and toasters etc may are still be available for now.
In addition to the above, we are no longer accepting appeals for school uniforms until we know when schools are due to re-open.
The above list is not exhaustive, but is given as a representation of the logistical and administrative problems we are facing right now.
We are doing our very best during these unprecedented times, and it breaks our hearts that we are unable to operate at 100%
We are sincerely sorry for this unforeseen nationwide disruption, but there is very little we can do right now, other than to monitor the situation daily and keep you informed.
We thank you for your patience and understanding and meanwhile ask that you observe the Government’s recommendations and please stay safe.
