RULES & GUIDELINES
- Entry is FREE
- Entry deadline is Tuesday 23rd November 2021
WHY ENTER?
As its name suggests, the Innovation in Community Pharmacy Practice Award’s principal aim is to reward those, who use technology in an innovative way, to promote quality, safety, and efficiency in community pharmacy.
Innovation brings improved population wellbeing as well as improved business efficiencies and economic opportunity using technology-enabled solutions. These can range from solutions which are integrated into the pharmacy’s existing IT business solution, or as stand-alone products or mobile applications - or a combination of all three.
The judging panel will be looking for ways in which an innovative project has produced positive outcomes for patients.
This award identifies individuals and teams working within community pharmacy in Northern Ireland whose ideas, innovative projects or inventions have already led to improvements in patient outcomes or have the potential to do so soon.
WHO CAN ENTER?
This award is open to all pharmacists and their teams, who have embraced innovative eHealth and IT systems (such as mobile apps or robotics etc) with the aim of improving the delivery of pharmaceutical care, promoting patient safety, and improving efficiency.
Nominations for the category can be made through self-nomination, by colleagues or pharmacy business owners, or by personal application.
All entries will be judged by an independent panel of experts.
JUDGES WILL BE LOOKING FOR:
· Activities that may involve pioneering new technology/eHealth models or systems that will reinforce pharmacists’ impact as members of the healthcare team in general and will improve patient safety and outcomes.
· Evidence of the development of a system or a tool that can be used in community pharmacy, which will directly impact patient care and will provide a template for use throughout the profession.
· Proof of measurable benefits of any model, system, or initiative. As such, statistics will be required, which will clearly evidence any added value, benefit, or productivity increase created by the adoption of the new system or tool. Where possible, financial data should also be provided, such as percentages, ratios, and graphic images, to back up evidence of improved patient outcomes.
