WHY ENTER?
It is estimated that around 21 million people in the United Kingdom are affected by allergies, while the World Health Organisation has described allergic disease as a ‘modern epidemic’. From food allergy to nut allergy, from drug allergy to skin allergy, the lives of many people – from the youngest of children to the most elderly in society, are badly affected on a daily basis – not only on a physical basis, but also psychologically.
This award recognises sterling examples of such service through community pharmacyand elsewhere.
WHO CAN ENTER?
This category is open to all contractor or employee pharmacists and/or pharmacy teams working in independent or group pharmacies, and practice-based pharmacists, who can demonstrate outstanding contribution to the treatment of allergy in the local community.
Nominations for the category can be made through self-nomination, personal application, or by colleagues, pharmacy business owners or GPs.
All entries will be judged by an independent panel of experts.
JUDGES WILL BE LOOKING FOR:
· Enthusiasm and commitment to the enhancement of community pharmacy in Scotland.
· Exceptional quality above and beyond what is expected.
· An ability to overcome challenges in pursuit of goals.
· Evidence of how performance was measured and benchmarked in addition to proof of project success/improved patient outcomes.
