Cut off times. There are no cut offs – simply enjoy your day! If you might still be running after 4 pm please bring a headtorch.
The route follows Liverpool Otterspool Riverside Promenade along the river Mersey. The distance measures approx. 26.2 miles consisting of four 3.27 mile out-and-back laps.
There is a red hat on the ground marking the start line and the turn around point - you need to run around this hat to complete each lap.
All course is traffic-free, however it is open to public and participates must be considerate of pedestrians at all times.
Marshalls and water stations:
The main checkpoint is by the start / finish area – is available every 6.6 miles as you complete each lap. There is space for all runners to leave any supplies you may need (Warm clothes, layers and drinks!).
We provide snacks and water, and you are welcome to bring your own supplies. We are hoping to reduce plastic waste and minimise the use of plastic cups - please bring your own bottle to refill.
We will do our best to provide a marshal with water at the turn around point (3.27 miles) however we rely on the kindness of volunteers for this and cannot guarantee there will be one. It is always best to prepare to be self-sufficient for the duration of each 6.6 mile lap.
Please prepare for strong winds and wet conditions and dress appropriately for winter. Don't forget warm clothes for after the race.
Timing and Results
We provide gun time only. Times are recorded manually and there is a small chance of human error especially in rainy weather. It’s best to wear your own watch as a back up.
PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE VENUE UNTIL YOU MAKE SURE THE TIMEKEEPER WRITES DOWN YOUR TIME IN THE RESULTS TABLE. This should be done before the medal is given but in certain cases (such as when many people finish at once) it becomes more difficult therefore please remember to make sure we have recorded your time before you leave.
Results for day 1, day 2, and both days will be sent by email to all participants. I will be posting on facebook to advise when emails have been sent.
Medals for all finishers. Small trophies for 1st male and female runners.
The closest accommodation is Travelodge Docks – it is just round the corner from the start. We strongly recommend booking this hotel over others as you would be able to use the toilet just before the start.
Transport and Parking
There is a large parking by the Pipe Centre (Atlantic Way), which is free of charge. We have kindly been given permission to use this car park – please respect the rules and do not leave any litter behind.
The start is just behind the fence from there.
The nearest train station is Brunswick (Merseyrail).
If a family member/ friend is coming with you why not consider volunteering and becoming a Marshal for the day? There is always something we need help with, handing out water, medals, etc etc. All help is really appreciated. ENTRY FOR VOLUNTEERS / FAMILY MEMBER IS FREE - please get in touch to arrange that.
