  • Risk Assessment

    Hirers must carry out a risk assessment appropriate to the booking, programme, activity, session etc., and specific to the centre and room booked. If a risk assessment template is required, please contact a member of the Community Facilities Team: fodccommunitycentres@fermanaghomagh.com
  • Please confirm that an appropriate risk assessment will be / has been carried out for the programme / activity / session they are delivering, specific to the centre and room booked.*
  • Public Liability Insurance

    Hirers must provide evidence of their insurance policy and give an undertaking that they will maintain this policy for the duration of the booking
  • Low Hazard - minimum of £1,000,000 - £2,000,000 - must be provided for meeting room hire, community/volunteer group activities etc.


    Medium Risk - minimum of £5,000,000 - must be provided for physical activity and activities involving hot food.


    High Hazard - minimum of £10,000,000 - must be provided for bouncy castles / inflatables / trampolines and contact sports / dangerous activities.

  • 1. Are you representing an organisation that works with children, young people or adults at risk of harm?*
  • 2. Does your organisation have a written policy that demonstrates the organisation’s commitment to safeguarding children, young people or adults at risk of harm, and is it is available to all stakeholders (such as parents / carers, volunteers, etc.,)?
  • 3. Your organisation agrees to abide by the Council's Child and Adult Safeguarding Policies and Codes of Practice (link below)

  • 4. Does your organisation consistently apply a thorough and clearly defined method of recruiting staff and volunteers in line with legislative requirements and best practice (such as references, where required, and AccessNI checks, where there is eligibility)?
  • 5. Does your organisation have procedures in place for the effective management, induction, support, supervision, and relevant skills/safeguarding training of staff and volunteers?
  • 6. Has your organisation clearly defined procedures for raising awareness of, responding to, recording and reporting concerns about actual or suspected incidents of abuse or harm? For example, Designated Safeguarding Officers/Leaders, a procedure to deal with concerns or incidents, how to assess concerns or incidents, confidential records of concerns / incidents.
  • 7. Does your organisation have a written Code of Conduct/Behaviour which outlines the behaviour expected of all involved in the organisation? For example, guidelines on how to safely lead activities for children, young people and adults at risk of harm
  • 8. Has your organisation processes in place to share relevant information appropriately and safely with parents, carers, children, young people, staff, volunteers, and other agencies, including information on who the designated safeguarding officer/leader is and how to contact them?
  • 9. Does your organisation adhere to written guidelines that ensure the general safety and effective management of activities? For example, ensuring participants depart an activity with a permitted adult and there is a recommended number of leaders in relation to the number of participants.
  • 10. I understand the organisation I am applying on behalf of is responsible for implementing safeguarding standards to ensure the safety of children, young people and adults at risk of harm.
