Please read the descriptions and indicate below which band/groups you initially think may suit you. Once we have met, we can help you decide and change accordingly:

• Child Prelims. For children (Usually over 7) who are complete beginners. There may be a waiting list so we will contact you about when to come along on a Thursday evening.
• Adult Prelims. For adults who are complete beginners. We will allocate a tutor and contact you with a time to come along on a Monday Evening. You will also be invited to sit in Academy band before or after your lesson, to try to follow the music and join in where and if you feel able.
• Frosty's band. A beginner band introducing children not yet at grade 3 standard to the art of playing in an ensemble before graduating to youth band.
• Youth band. Open to all brass and percussion players under the age of 19 offering a fun and enjoyable environment to play within a traditional brass band.
• Academy. Started as a band for adult beginners with players graduating to senior band, it still can function as such but has become more of a band in its own right with its own engagements. This is a good place for players who do not wish to or do not feel ready for contesting. It has a very friendly and supportive atmosphere. Young players from Youth Band or Frosty's band who wish to gain extra playing experience can also be included.
• Senior Band. A contesting band currently in 4th section. A friendly place to enjoy playing in a traditional brass band. As a rough guide, we suggest a standard of grade 5 upwards.
• Schools Partnership Scheme (One to One lessons). If a child attends one of our participating partner schools this option can be chosen in addition to, or alternative to prelims. It is a very cost effective way of getting one to one lessons in school time with a pariptetic music teacher which TVB provide to the school. Monthly membership fees are still payable to TVB as well as a lesson fee to the teacher. Children joining this scheme still have the benefits of membership inluding insrument loan and are expected to join a TVB band when at the right standard.

Photography/Videography (Adult)

Please indicate below your level of permission to be included if we take photographs or videos of the band whilst attending rehearsals, concerts or other events. If consented, these images or videos may be used to help publicise events and promote the band through the use of media channels including social media and promotional literature.

Membership Undertaking (Adult)
I give my undertaking to become a member of Test Valley Brass and will:

• Attend rehearsals regularly whilst rehearsals are being held unless the committee declare attendance as optional during exceptional circumstances.
• Agree to pay the subscription set at the AGM.
• Agree that any gifts made to the band by the individual or their family are permanent and can not be claimed back upon leaving.

 Band Rules & Constitution
As a charity (registration no.1090095) Test Valley Brass has an agreed constitution and rules together with policies and procedures to keep people safe. Please ensure you have read and understood the constitution and rules and are aware of the band's policies and their location. They are available to read on the website www.testvalleybrass.co.uk, under the tab 'Useful Info'.

GDPR
You have the right not to have your details stored electronically. TVB only hold your data exclusively for the purposes of managing the band and contacting people as necessary in the case of an emergency.
 
Your data will be securely held and not be transferred to, or accessible by, any third party other than that for facilitating the functionality of the form and database. Those assisting with functionality are:

• Jotform (Which collects the data you fill in)
• Air Table (The Database holding your data)
• Muzodo (A diary service through which we keep you updated about rehearsals, concerts and other TVB activities involving your group. Currently senior band only).
• WhatsApp (A way of commumcating with the band. If you join any of the band's chat groups your phone number will be visible to other band members signed up to the group.)

Their GDPR policies can be viewed on their websites. Your data will never be shared for marketing or other commercial purposes. Providing you have consented for Video/photography, your image may be used on Test Valley Brass promotional material including social media, but TVB will never share your personal details.
 
You have the right to view and amend any information we hold about you. To ensure accuracy and updated consent, we will ask you to review/update details we hold about you and re-sign your consent once every year, or sooner if you inform us of a change.

The data we hold is only accessible by band leaders and officers of the band in their respective roles.  We will continue to research latest encryption safeguards and update our database security as deemed necessary.

Consent
I agree that the band may keep my or my personal details for the duration of my membership of the band and use it as appropriate for the functioning of the band. The information will only be available to Trustees, Band Leaders and committee members where their role requires it including the Welfare/safguarding Officer. It will be destroyed/removed electronically as soon as possible after a member leaving the Band, to a maximmum delay of three months. Some information may be retained and archived as required for accountancy (VAT & Gift aid returns etc.)
I give consent for the TVB management team to contact me by telephone or electronic communication for the purposes of band management including the updating of my details, notification of rehearsals, events and meetings.

Membership Undertaking (Child)

• Supprt {firstName} to attend rehearsals regularly whilst rehearsals are being held unless the committee declare attendance as optional during exceptional circumstances.

• Agree that if over 16, should {firstName} wish to join a band Whatsap group, members of that group may communicate with him/her on the platform. (Parents may also join any band Whatsap group to which their child is a member).
