Essential Criteria
Candidates must be resident in the North East of England (Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham or Teeside)
Aged 18 or under
Taking Drum/Percussion lessons or are self taught.
Closing date for applications is 30th June 2020
Completed applications must be returned either online with this form or via email to mjbpercussionfoundation@gmail.com or by post to 32 Park View Gardens, Ryton, Tyne & Wear NE40 3JD by no later than 30th June 2020.
After we have verified your application, successful candidates will be invited to attend an audition.
Audition venue is conditional on Government guidelines in relation to Covid 19 restrictions and may have to be submitted by your own recording. We will keep you up to date as guidelines are reviewed but we aim to have auditions on or submitted before July13th 2020.
You are asked to prepare 2 short contrasting pieces for the Judges to listen to. No longer than 5 minutes total playing time unless prompted by the panel. Some questions will follow. If auditions are held via recordings you may be invited to an online conference with the Judges to answer some questions.
There will be a panel of 4 judges and the foundations Trustee’s decision will be final.
Successful awardees will be notified by post no later than July 31st 2020. Prizes awarded are to be claimed by March 30th of the following year or will be forefitted.
We request Scholarship winners to perform in our annual concert, Forever The Beat Of The Drum.
