• Custom / Private Tour Enquiry Form

  • You can use this form to make an enquiry about a private tour anywhere in Scotland and North England. It is not a booking form.  To book your pre-agreed private tour, complete the booking form on Scot AnSgeulaiche's Tours or Samantha MacKenzie's Tours (J&C etc) and choose "Private Tour" from the drop down when prompted.

Some general notes for all tours:

Isle of Skye Note:  We currently do not tour or stay on the Isle of Skye with the exception of touring the southern end of Skye as part of our public Spirit of Scotland Tour and some private tours when logistically possible.  Why not Skye? Sadly it no longer gives our guests the expeirenced promised in the tourist media due to overcrowding.

These are non-smoking tours:  Smoking is not allowed from the beginning to the completion of any tour even in the off hours.

Choosing a date / Contact us early! :  If you want a tour between May & late September, you will need to contact us at least six months in advance.  To save you time, you might want check that your preferred date does not coincide with any of the scheduled public tours on www.jamieandclairetour.co.uk and www.ansgeulaiche.co.uk

Age:  All guests must be 18 years of age or older on any tour.  Under 21 must be accompanied by an adult over 25 years.

Mobility:  Keep in mind that Scotland is ALL hills and mountains.  Everywhere you go, including your accommodation, restaurants, sites & views will ALL require walking up and down hills, steep streets and stairs.

Luggage:  If your tour is for 6 persons or more, you have a luggage allowance of one piece per person and no more than 50 inches in total dimensions (height+width+depth), due to van size.

Form:  Fill in this enquiry form for any length of custom / private tour, from a one day tour to a multi-day tour.

  • TOUR PRICE ESTIMATES

Quotes / Estimates:  We will need to know exactly how many guests and exactly how many days of touring before we can begin to provide an estimate for a private tour.

If you have at least 6 guests in your group:  tour price starts at £225 per person per day (transport, entrances, guiding, accommodation).  It's similar in price with our pre-scheduled public tours.  This may go up if you require special destinations, ferry transport, special entrances, etc., all at your own request.

Fewer than 6 in a group?   The price will increase pro-rata.  Example - for 2 travellers, a custom itinerary will be around £650 per person per day.

Budget Friendly:  If a private tour is not within your budget, we recommend one of our fabulous pre-schedulde tours. They're small groups of 'Scotland-loving people' who come along for the same reasons as you.

Accommodation Style & Price:  We usually stay in nice B&Bs as we prefer the quality-to-price of B&B. If you require a luxury hotel, we are happy to book these as well.

  • The enquiry process explained

    1. You make a custom tour enquiry via this form.
    2. We give you some initial feedback on this submission / wish-list to check it's all possible, within the time. We give you an approximate cost with any cost-options to consider.  We give an overview of your trip.
    3. Now that we have agreed the general overview, you book and pay the required deposit so that we can do more detailed planning.
    4. We do some planning then send you the more detailed tour agreement (contract), covering the final cost and the main itinerary points we've agreed.
    5. You agree the contract by paying the balance.  We then begin implementing the tour plans, making accommodation bookings, planning routes, etc.
    6. We keep in contact with you, sending packing lists, health forms and relevant information.
    7. We pick you up at the meet-point for a great adventure full of the expected and hopefully some pleasant surprises.

  • DRIVING AND DISTANCES:  We try to minimize time within the vehicle each day.  We believe you should have your feet on the ground as much as possible and not see the sites from behind a window for several hours.  If you wish to cover a lot of miles in your chosen destination, you will spend more time in the vehicle.  The average speed on Scottish roads is 40mph. Please keep this in mind when answering the next questions.
